Security / Crowd Control Attendant - Detroit Pistons / Palace Sports & Entertainment (Auburn Hills, MI)

We are seeking part-time Crowd Control Attendants that are able to work at DTE Energy Music Theatre, Meadow Brook Amphitheatre, and Michigan Lottery Amphitheatre at Freedom Hill. As a Crowd Control Attendant, you will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment at each of our venues and events. You'll be in direct contact with our guests and will be a key component in the protection and security of PS&E guests, staff members, artists and/or athletes. During events you will see us at entrances doing security screening, responding to incidents, in the barricades during concerts, and providing access control throughout the venue.

Events are typically in the evenings and weekends with a shift start time usually between 5:00 PM-5:30 PM. The hourly rate is $9.50.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Enforcing all Palace Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures: this involves approaching violators and communicating with them on a one-on-one basis.
  • Monitoring guests and employees to ensure all those present are in compliance with Palace Sports & Entertainment policies and procedures.
  • Communicating and enforcing access control to restricted areas throughout the venue.
  • Preparing facility for opening and closing during each event.
  • Responding to incidents and deescalating situations by using excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Documenting all safety and medical incidents.
  • Communicating to event dispatch of incidents and assisting police and medical responders in the event of an emergency.
  • Providing exceptional customer service to all guests by communicating venue and event information and providing the best overall experience.

?WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to stand or walk for a long duration of a standard shift (4 to 7 hours) and the ability to do stairs throughout the shift.
  • Must be able to work outside in a variety of conditions (heat, humidity, high wind, or rain).
  • Expected to be available to work 2-3 events per week.

Security / Facility Patrol Attendant - Detroit Pistons / Palace Sports & Entertainment (Auburn Hills, MI)

We are seeking Facility Patrol Attendants for our 24/7 Security. As a Facility Patrol Attendant you will be assisting with daily security needs at all four of our venues. We are hiring for all shifts: Morning (8am-4pm), Afternoon (4pm-midnight) and Midnight (midnight-8am). This is a part time position offering on average 20 hours a week depending on availability.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Monitoring facility to ensure compliance with organizational expectations for guest and employee behavior
  • Responsible for the overall safety and security of all PS&E employees and assets by ensuring all policies and procedures are implemented
  • Preparing facility for opening and closing during each event
  • Monitoring guest and employee activity during events
  • Enforcing all PS&E policies and procedures: this involves approaching violators and communicating with them on a one-on-one basis
  • Documenting all safety and medical incidents
  • Assisting police and medical personnel by notifying them immediately when an incident is reported and following through by providing further investigation information

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to go from a standing to kneeling to standing positions
  • Must be capable of working outside in a variety of environmental conditions (heat, humidity, high wind or rain)

Event Dispatcher / Event Camera Operator - Detroit Pistons / Palace Sports & Entertainment (Auburn Hills, MI)

We are seeking an Event Dispatcher / Event Security Camera Operator for our Security department. The Event Dispatcher’s responsibilities will include, but are not be limited to, constantly monitoring all radio, telephone and security camera communication, passing vital information to event staff, and recording all incident data. 

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

  • Utilizing a computer-aided dispatch system to receive emergency calls from event staff and notify police, fire, medical or other emergency services
  • Determining the nature and location of the emergency and non-emergency situations; determining priorities, and dispatching proper event staff
  • Answering non-emergency calls for assistance
  • Entering, updating and retrieving information from a variety of computer systems
  • Monitoring several complex event radio frequencies
  • Operating a variety of communications equipment, including radio consoles, telephones and camera computer systems
  • Logging all dispatch radio communications and event based data
  •  Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution to solve problems
  • Communicating with supervisors, co-workers, or direct reports by telephone, in written form, e-mail, and in person

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

  • Minimum of 1 year relevant work experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must be available to work three eight hour shifts a week, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
